HORSE AS TEACHER
Growth & Learning Programs
Working with horses provides opportunities for adventure,
reflection, and personal growth. Horses provide a connection to nature and reflect
our own beauty and power. Horse as Teacher lessons and workshops are a powerful complement
to more conventional forms of therapy, helping address issues of trust, control and self-worth.
In the proper setting, horses can teach us to be present, to listen, focus, and take action.
Interacting with horses in individual sessions, with family members, co-workers or in empowerment
workshops can enhance all of your relationships.

EMPOWERED WOMEN SERIES
Growing Our Wisdom Through the Seasons
Spring - The Wood Element
May 4 & 5.
The Wood Element is about being true to your own nature and expressing your desires to the world. It is about clarity of purpose and moving forward with flexibility and gentle persistence. How do you express yourself in the world? Where do you continue to harbor doubt? How do you deal with obstacles and setbacks? What is your relationship with anger, yours and others? This season, we will explore these questions as the energy in nature rises and bursts forth. What is longing for expression? Where do we push too hard? Where do we hang back? Our horse partners reflect the energy of the season and support our willingness to find our true nature.
Summer – The Fire Element
August 2 & 3.
The Fire Element is about passion and relationship. It is about how you express your joy. How do you channel the energy of Life and send it out to interact with and embrace others? How do you create the masterpiece of your life? What inspires you? How do you access your intuitive self and follow your heart? In the warm fullness of the summer season, we will gather to express our creative joy with each other and with our horse partners. We will draw from the deep well of our heart for inspiration and connection. We will affirm our unity with our source of creative power.

 JOURNEYING WITH HORSES CLASS
This eight week series allows participants to continue the personal growth and horse work they began in the introductory two and three day workshops, such as Empowered Women, From Our Hearts, Way of the Horse.
Groups are formed periodically throughout the year.
Clients deepen their understanding of the horses and themselves with weekly explorations in mindful presence, communication, groundwork and mounted work. As this study continues, we work together on horsemanship skills in the arena and out on the trail. Once basic skills are established in the containers of round pen and arena, we venture out for camping and trail riding. These workshops are offered Spring, Summer and Fall.
Fee: $650/10 week class. May - June. 8 weeks / 2 hour sessions.
This group is limited to 4 women.

Training services provided at Galleywinter Farm, 20 minutes from Charlottesville at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Galleywinter Farm is a unique environment for growth and learning, a sort of experiment station for relationships - human and equine. Situated in western Albemarle county at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and 4 miles from Shenandoah National Park and miles of riding trails, the farm offers students and visitors a respite from the hurried pace and pressures of modern life. In brief workshops or ongoing curriculum, many women find the pieces they need (and love) on their journey to optimal health and happiness.
