Applying the maxim ‘there’s more than one way to skin a cat’ to the wellness and executive development fields, Gail Todter has crafted unique methods for advising and coaching others to higher levels of health. Known for effective classes, workshops and individualized coaching, Gail creatively utilizes a variety of body-centric activities – adept at strength training in the gym, meditation, mindfulness techniques, and the emerging field of relationship-based horsemanship - to enhance health, reduce stress and provide pragmatic personal strategies that her clients can use on their own.Gail has counseled a wide range of individuals over the past 15 years, primarily those with stressful lives who need an effective, yet simple plan to integrate healthier patterns into their daily activities. She has conducted risk screening and counseling for cardiovascular disease; designed a mindfulness-based stress reduction program for a private medical clinic; developed and taught a wellness program for individuals with emotional issues related to their food choices; and has implemented an equine-based program for developing trust and confidence in women whose life experiences have caused the loss of those two important capabilities. She received her MS in Physiology & Biophysics from Colorado State University and her PhD in Health Education/Health Promotion from the University of Virginia. Gail is also certified by the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association. Gail’s professional goal is to make a difference in the lives of the people she coaches, by creating new avenues for health behavior change and well-being through fitness, stress reduction and communication. She is equally comfortable and successful working with clients in the office, the gym or at the farm. Gail balances her life with her personal passions - tending to her farm in the shadow of the Blue Ridge mountains, wilderness trail riding, and caring for her daughter, horses and other animals. |
